Industry experts shared their knowledge on current trends, challenges and opportunities facing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in this evolving landscape.

Event highlights:

Welcome and objectives:
Eva Hollauf (Salzburg Research / EDIH Crowd in Motion) opened the session by introducing the aims of the webinar and underlining the importance of AI for modernising tourism mobility.

AI in tourism mobility:
Dorina Tosaki (Salzburg Research / EDIH Crowd-in-Motion) gave a comprehensive overview of how AI is currently being integrated into tourism mobility, presenting current trends and discussing potential disruptions and opportunities for SMEs.

RI.T.MO case study:
Lorenzo Manella (EDIH ER2DIGIT) presented the RI.T.MO project, which focuses on identifying solutions for sustainable mobility in tourism, and outlined areas where AI-driven approaches can add value.

Introduction to EDIH DIHNAMO:
Benjamin Cheret (Pole Tes / EDIH DIHNAMO) provided an overview of the DIHNAMO initiative and outlined current trends in tourism mobility in France, offering a valuable international comparison.

AI-based decision support for sustainable mobility:
Arno Scharl (webLyzard technology) introduced AI-based decision support systems and demonstrated how they help companies make well-informed decisions aligned with the sustainability goals of the tourism sector.

The webinar closed with an interactive Q&A session, giving participants the chance to engage with the speakers and explore the topics in greater depth.
